For this month's feature, we caught up with news anchor Sally Hernandez. Sally has been an anchor for KXAN for twenty years and is the longest tenured morning news anchor in the history of the station! With determination and integrity, Sally has accomplished her dream since the age of 8 of being on the news. She has been recognized by the Texas Associated Press for her anchoring and was also part of the 2010 winning team for Best Morning Newscast. The lady who wakes up Austin, Texas can often be seen wearing Liz James!

"While in college, I was awarded a scholarship from the company that owned KXAN at the time. It paid for my last year at Saint Mary's University in San Antonio with an emphasis on diversifying the newsroom upon graduation." says Sally. 

Why Liz James?

"This jewelry really pops on camera," says Sally. "I am a hoops girl all the way, but I also like the cuffs and the more simple designs in her newest collection. I put Liz James on and I feel powerful!"

Sally actually interviewed our own Jamie Pope for a television segment a few years back. "She was donating jewelry to help a fundraiser and we just clicked! I remember looking at her and loving her style. She is the type of girl you want to have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with." says Sally. We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

"She is inviting, cool, and laid back much like her pieces!"

"Did you see what Sally was wearing this morning?"

Here in the Liz James studio, this is a very common question heard as we greet each other over morning coffee and tea. It only made perfect sense to write about our favorite morning news anchor who also happens to wear our jewelry.

"It is such an honor to see Sally wearing our jewelry! To me she's a local celebrity, but more importantly she's a relatable woman. She's also so kind and genuine. We simply adore her!" says Jamie Pope.

As an added bonus, Jamie loves to talk sports with Sally's husband Dennis (long time sports anchor/reporter on Fox 7) who often comes in to shop.
